* Wechselt jetzt in den Lineare Objekte Modus, da wo Schienen verlegt werden.
* Mit dem Auswahl Werkzeug (der orange gestrichelte Kasten) geht an den "Nullpunkt" eurer Schienen, also dort wo ihr mit dem Messen starten wollt. Markiert nun genau einen Kilometer Länge auf den Schienen, die Zahl könnt ihr am unteren Bildschirmrand auf der schwarzen Leiste nachsehen. Passt auf der Hauptstrecke zu folgen wenn es Abzweigungen gibt und das nur ein Gleis ausgewählt wird. Bei zwei Gleisen wird auch die markierte Entfernung unten verdoppelt.
* Nach genau einem Kilometer klickt das Gleis einmal an um die Markierung zu setzen.
* Bewegt dann den Mauszeiger neben die Schienen, dort wo ihr die Tafel setzen wollt.
* Klickt anschließend einmal mit der rechten Maustaste um die Schienenauswahl zu entfernen, aber bewegt dabei nicht die Maus!
* Solange der Mauszeiger noch in Position ist drückt [STRG] + [V] um den Kamin genau dort einzufügen.
* Wiederholt das Ausmessen eines weiteren Kilometers, baut einen Schornstein, wieder messen und so weiter... Speichert dabei nach jedem Schornstein!
* Wenn entlang der Strecke jetzt überall Schornsteine stehen fangt wieder am Anfang an die Tafeln in die Mitte der Schornsteine zu setzen, tragt die richtige Zahl in den Eigenschaften ein und löscht anschließend den Schornstein.
* Hiermit lassen sich die Hektometertafeln sehr genau in regelmäßigen Abständen setzen und die Methode ist weitaus schneller als die beiden oberen.

Eine weitere Möglichkeit die Tafeln sehr exakt zu setzen ist mit abgezählten Oberleitungsmasten. Dazu muss jedoch vorab eine der Systemdateien verändert werden.
* bevor die erste Oberleitung gesetzt wird im Ordner: ..\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\Gantries das Mastsetztool "Hagen-Seigen wire gantry Tool.bin" (Seigen!) in RWTools öffnen
* Diese Zeile suchen: <DistanceBetweenGantries d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000004940" d:precision="string">55.0000</DistanceBetweenGantries>
* dort den Wert 55 in 500 oder 1000 ändern
* Im Editor mit dem "S. Fahrlmst.-Werkz." (engl. S Wire Gantry Tool) die Masten setzen und dann dort abgezählt die Tafeln platzieren, beschriften und den Mast wieder entfernen. Berücksichtigt auch hervorragend Kurven und Steigungen.
* Mit dem Wert 50 kann man auch an jedem zehnten Mast eine Tafel platzieren und die Masten im Anschluss stehen lassen

== Hinzufügen eines Ladebildschirms ==

Der Ladebildschirm wird beim Laden eurer Strecke angezeigt. Bei den Standardstrecken sieht man eine einfache Karte sowie ein paar Bilder der Strecke, aber letztlich ist euch freigestellt was dort zu sehen ist.
Bevor ihr dort ein Bild hinzufügen könnt müsst ihr das natürlich erst in einem Grafikprogramm eurer Wahl erstellen. Für den Rail Simulator gab es noch eine Einschränkung auf 1024x512 Pixel Größe, Railworks scheint aber auch größere Bilder zu akzeptieren. Ob und wie größere Dateien bei einer Auflösung dargestellt werden, die kleiner als das Bild ist entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis, die alte Rail Sim Vorgabe macht von daher immer noch Sinn. Bei einer größeren Bildschirm-Auflösung wird das Bild auf die volle Größe gestreckt.
Die Bilddatei muss im .dds Format gespeichert sein, Typ DXT1 – ARGB mit 8 Mip Maps. Für Photoshop und Paint Shop Pro gibt es ein passendes Plugin von NVidia wo ihr diese Einstellungen beim abspeichern auswählen könnt, für GIMP gibt es ebenfalls ein Plugin mit leicht anderen Optionen, Links hierzu findet ihr am Ende. Bitte prüft die jeweils mitgelieferte Dokumentation wie ihr diese Plugins benutzen und installieren müsst.
Wenn eure Grafik soweit fertig ist startet RWTools und geht wieder in das „Strecke prüfen“ Menü und auf den zweiten Button von rechts „Strecken-Ladebild hinzufügen“.
Zuerst dann nochmal der Hinweis wie die Datei auszusehen hat:

Die Namensvorgabe muss nicht unbedingt erfüllt sein, RWTools sollte das beim umwandeln entsprechend anpassen.
Anschließend öffnet sich dann das Dateiauswahl Fenster in dem ihr zu eurer Grafik navigiert und mit „öffnen“ bestätigt. RWTools startet dann den Umwandlungsprozess und erstellt eine Datei namens „loading_(Dein-Strecken-Name).TgPcDx“ in eurem Streckenverzeichnis. Beim nächsten Start eurer Strecke sollte das Bild dann erscheinen.
